Im Vorfeld der Special Olympics World Winter Games 2017 im März haben Schulen Patenschaften für AthletInnen übernommen. Das CoolSchool-Projekt wird an jeder Schule unterschiedlich umgesetzt. Manche Klassen sind schon in Kontakt mit den SportlerInnen getreten während andere gemeinsame Aktivitäten planen oder schulspezifische Schwerpunkte darin einbringen.

Studierende der FH Joanneum haben sich auf den Weg gemacht, um aus den Schulen zu berichten und die Begeisterung und Stimmen zur "größten Fanmission aller Zeiten" einzufangen.

Ihre zweite Station war die Graz International Bilingual School (BG GIBS), die unter anderem am Host Town Program von 14-16 März teilnehmen wird.
